Techno queen marked my first opera production and an extraordinary collaborative journey. Developed in close collaboration with director Francesco Micheli, the project brought together artists from multiple disciplines to create an ambitious and experimental interpretation of Donizetti’s opera.
Produced by the Bavarian State Opera in partnership with Brainlab, the work combined music, performance, dance, costume, video, sound, and light into a unified theatrical experience.
My sincere thanks to Francesco Micheli for his vision and trust; to Serge Dorny, Brainlab, and the Bavarian State Opera for supporting this experimental undertaking; and to the entire creative team whose talent, dedication, and generosity made the production possible.
Special thanks to dramaturges Sasha Marianna Salzmann and Olaf Rosso; composers and musical collaborators Leona Jacewska and Alberto Zanardi; sound designer Maxime Dangles; choreographer Sophie Colindres and the dancers; video artist Mariam Esaa; lighting designer Thomas Wendt; costume collaborator Felizitas “Fee” Zacharias, Ulli Gärtner, Georg Bünger, and the entire costume department; Qingqing Ji; Veronika, Hella, and Tizian; and Yannick Leonard Fischer.
Deep gratitude as well to the remarkable cast:
- Iana Aivazian — Maria Stuarda
- Evgeniya Sotnikova — Anna Bolena
- Meg Bragle — Elisabetta
- Zhe Liu — Enrico / La Morte
An unforgettable experience and a powerful reminder of what can be achieved through collective creativity.
